We would like to pay tribute to our first sponsor Mr. G.W. Haworth. Mr. Haworth passed away on October 25, 2006, at the age of 95. Mr. Haworth, a former Holland Public School teacher, began what was to become a billion dollar company in the garage of his Holland home. Through his emphasis on values and education, and his respect for all human beings, he exemplified what FIRST Robotics is all about – gracious professionalism. According to one of Mr. Haworth’s employees, “ He was a businessman to the end, always questioning results, asking where we could do better, prodding for improvements, but always celebrating the members of Haworth. And I am a better man for having known him.” Mr. Haworth was an inspiration to our team, as well as an outstanding person. Thank you Mr. Haworth for your many years of support for the Holland FIRST Robotics team.
